The Center for Career and Leadership Development (CCLD) is excited to announce the return of the Federal Work-Study Internship Program this Spring 2025. As part of a transformative initiative funded by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), this program enhances traditional Federal Work-Study positions by turning them into meaningful internship experiences for Federal Work-Study students. The FWS Internship Program uses FWS funds to compensate students while they gain valuable, real-world experience through internships. This fall, we have proudly welcomed seven FWS interns to be part of our pilot program.

If you currently have a Federal Work-Study position and would like to transform it into an internship or need assistance creating a new FWS Internship, we invite you to join our virtual information session on Friday, October 25 at 12:00 PM. During this session, we will cover program requirements, the application process for securing a FWS intern, onboarding procedures, and your role as a supervisor and mentor.
