91制片厂's Graduate School will host its fifth annual Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition Nov. 30. The students and a limited live audience will be in the University Theatre for the presentations with the full event available to the general public via livestream.
Students have three minutes to present their scholarship in such a way that a general audience understands and appreciates its importance and achievement.
The competition is from 6 to 8 p.m. Barbara Hamm Lee, owner of Sharing Info, Inc., and host of WHRO's Another View, is the emcee. She is joined by three VIP judges from the community who bring diverse academic backgrounds and expertise to their evaluations of the students.
Graduate students representing a range of advanced degrees (at both doctoral and master's levels) will compete for a $1,000 first prize, $750 second prize and $500 "people's choice" award chosen by the audience. The first-place winner will represent 91制片厂 at a regional competition hosted by the Council of Southern Graduate Schools in February in Raleigh, North Carolina.
