Consortium Enrollment Form
91制片厂 will register a student for courses at consortium institutions if the student presents a properly signed Tidewater Consortium Student Cross-Registration Form listing the course or courses to be taken. The Cross-Registration Form must be signed by the Registrar and advisor of the home institution before the host institution can approve the request.
This form is NOT available online. Students who wish to cross register must obtain the form from the Registrar's Office (or the home institution if applicable), Rollins Hall, on the main campus. If you are a distance learning student (outside the Hampton Roads area) planning on cross-registering at Tidewater Community College, Virginia Peninsula Community College, or Camp Community College, please email crossreg@odu.edu or call the Registrar's Office (757) 683-4425 for additional information.
Registration for courses at any consortium institution must be done through the Office of the University Registrar, Rollins Hall. Some host institutions require students to hand carry the Consortium Registration Form to them to complete the registration process. Others allow 91制片厂 to mail the forms for final processing.
Students are advised that grades earned for these courses are usually released two to three weeks later than those earned for courses taken at the home institution. The grades are transmitted automatically to the home institution, after all grades have been posted. Please note that cross-registration is not recommended for students in their final semester, as courses completed or grades received late may impact degree conferral.
Important Academic Dates
Policies/Procedures
The purpose of cross-registration is to provide opportunities for enriched education programs by permitting students at any of the eleven Virginia Tidewater Consortium institutions participating in the program to take courses at any other VTC institution.
The signature of a course department's chairperson must be obtained if the 91制片厂 equivalent of the course you are planning to take at the host institution is offered at 91制片厂 during the same semester you are planning to take it elsewhere. Even if the offered 91制片厂 sections do not fit with your course schedule, are not offered online, or are closed, you must still obtain the course department chairperson's signature.
(If you are an 91制片厂 online student (outside the Hampton Roads area), you do not need to obtain the chairperson's signature on your form.)
The Tidewater Consortium Student Cross Registration Form is not available online. Students can obtain the form in the Office of the University Registrar, 1009 Rollins Hall or email crossreg@odu.edu.
More information is available by emailing crossreg@odu.edu.
91制片厂 students may take courses at any of the following Consortium host institutions: Christopher Newport University (Newport News), Eastern Shore Community College (Melfa); Eastern Virginia Medical School (Norfolk), Hampton University (Hampton); Joint Forces Staff College (Norfolk), Norfolk State University (Norfolk); Camp Community College (Franklin); Regent University (Virginia Beach), Tidewater Community College (all campuses); Virginia Peninsula Community College (Hampton); Virginia Wesleyan University (Norfolk); and the College of William & Mary (Williamsburg).
Cross-registration is limited to degree-seeking students with cumulative 91制片厂 GPA of 2.00 or better (graduate students must have a GPA of 3.0 or better) who are eligible for registration. If you do not yet have an 91制片厂 GPA, you cannot cross-register.
You can obtain the form at any time if you are eligible, but we cannot process it until registration begins for the semester (first day of pre-registration). We cannot process the form before this time. Also, please make sure all holds have been removed from your record. Forms should be completed prior to the add/drop date for each term. Forms will not be processed late in the semester, or retroactively for prior semesters.
Cross-registration is limited to 30 credit hours total. Courses not approved by the appropriate parties, and orientation or developmental courses, may not be taken via cross-registration.
No. Courses taken through cross-registration cannot be used for grade forgiveness, nor will grade forgiveness apply to any course taken via cross-registration.
Students must notify both institutions if dropping or withdrawing from a course, and must follow the drop/withdrawal regulations at both 91制片厂 and the host institution. 91制片厂 drop/withdraw deadlines are published in the .
No. If you wish to add a class after you obtain the required signatures on the form, you will need to complete a new cross-registration form for the additional course(s).
You will pay 91制片厂 tuition rates for the cross-registered course, and you will make payment to the 91制片厂 Finance Office for the course, just as you would for your normal courses at 91制片厂.
Note: If you are under the 91制片厂 distance learning rate and are domiciled as out-of-state, you will incur out-of-state charges for cross-registered courses. Tuition will be charged by the HOME institution for a cross-registered course (e.g., 91制片厂 students pay 91制片厂 tuition rates for cross-registered courses, and make payment to the 91制片厂 Finance Office for the course, as you would for your normal courses at 91制片厂).

All cross-registered courses will appear (and remain) on your 91制片厂 transcript with a course number ending in "29." For example, if you take a course at TCC Portsmouth that is the equivalent of 91制片厂's English 110C, the course will show on your transcript as follows: ENGL 129 TCCP-English Composition I. The grade for the course will be calculated into your 91制片厂 GPA.
Please note: Since these courses do not show up on your record as regular 91制片厂 courses would, they may not be recognized by the system as prerequisites for other courses. Please contact the course instructor(s) for a prerequisite override if this occurs.
91制片厂 will certify your credit hours for a cross-registered course just as we would a normal 91制片厂 course (same credit hours, 91制片厂 semester date range, tuition, etc.). If you have any questions about certification for your cross-registered course(s), please contact us at (757) 683-4425 or vaservices@odu.edu. You may not use cross-registration if you are using a supplemental/parent letter.
Cross-Registration Policies and Procedures
Please complete the form at 91制片厂 prior to registering at the host institution. If you are cross-registering at a TCC campus, please list on the form the campus at which you will register, and take your signed form to THAT campus for processing after we have processed it at 91制片厂. This will allow for a smoother exchange of grades at the end of the semester.
- If you meet eligibility requirements, pick up a cross-registration form at the 91制片厂 Registrar's Office. Please ensure that you meet eligibility requirements and do not have any registration holds on your record.
- Complete the top portion of the form with your personal information. Then complete the chart with the host institution's course information.
- Take the form to your advisor for signature. At this time, please discuss with your advisor the specific course(s) you're planning to take at the host institution to make sure they will meet your 91制片厂 degree requirements.
- Obtain the course department chairperson's signature if necessary (please see above). In many cases, you will need this signature.
- Return the form to the Registrar's office at 91制片厂 prior to the add/drop deadline. We will sign it and register you in a placeholder course at 91制片厂. This placeholder course allows us to attach your grade to your 91制片厂 transcript at the end of the semester, and allows 91制片厂 tuition to be assessed.
- Take the signed form to the Registrar's office at the host institution. They will sign it and attempt to register you for the course you wish to take at the host institution.
- If the registration is successful, please return the white copy of the signed form to the Registrar's office at 91制片厂. Please notify 91制片厂 if you are unable to register for the course at the host institution, or if you drop or withdraw from your course at the host institution during the semester.
- The host institution is responsible for reporting your grades to 91制片厂 at the end of the semester.
- F-1 Visa holders: Please complete the "Approval of Enrollment at Multiple Institutions for F-1s and J-1s" form online and submit to Visa and Immigration Service Advising (VISA) Office.

Please note: If you are planning on taking courses at Tidewater Community College, Virginia Peninsula Community College, or Camp Community College, please do NOT complete the 91制片厂 Consortium Agreement for financial aid. Instead, please contact crossreg@odu.edu) for information on the Virginia Tidewater Consortium process.
The Consortium Agreement represents an agreement between 91制片厂's Office of Financial Aid and the community college's financial aid office. It enables 91制片厂 to verify what courses the student is enrolled in so that financial aid may be provided.
It also prevents the community college from processing any aid for the student. The community college's Cashier, Registrar, and financial aid officer must sign the form. It must be completed each semester students are receiving financial aid regardless of whether or not they are enrolled in the community college.
Distance learning students should ensure that the site director has the agreement signed by the community college personnel. Many community colleges will not sign these forms after their school's deadline date to drop or add a course.
Concurrent/Consortium Enrollment Form
This form must be completed for students dually enrolled at 91制片厂 and the community college. Students not dually enrolled need not complete this form. The required student signature indicates that the student understands that if financial aid is reduced, he or she is fully responsible for community college debts.
The community college's site director must sign the form verifying that the courses taken are needed to meet 91制片厂's degree requirements. The community college's Registrar must also sign the form indicating that the student is enrolled in the course(s) so indicated on the form.
For more information, please contact finaid@odu.edu or see the Financial Aid web site.

The exchange will be honored in both regular sessions and in summer sessions, and will apply to graduate students at the master's, certificate of advanced study, and doctoral levels at both institutions.
The student must have completed prerequisites for the course(s) for which he/she registers. Core curriculum requirements must be met at the home institution. Elective courses and departmental requirements may be satisfied through exchange courses, but approval is required from the student's department. If a particular course is offered at the home institution, it may not be taken for credit at the other institution.
